| Lake Solano was created by the Solano Project when the Putah Diversion Dam was
completed in the late 1950s, and Putah Creek backed up behind it to form the lake.
From the dam, the Putah South Canal, which travels for 30 miles ending in Vallejo,
takes water from Putah Creek to Solano County. Approximately 200,000 acre-feet of
Putah Creek water per year is diverted to Solano County famers (about 75%) and
urban users (about 25%).

| Another 32,000 acre-feet is required to be passed below the dam for environmental
purposes.

| Renting a canoe or paddle boat at Lake Solano is a great way to see the creek from a
different perspective. The water is flat and safe for families with young children,
as long as they're wearing life jackets as required.
