August CreekSpeak: South Fork Preserve Expansion and Improvement

Registration is closed for this event
Thursday, August 16, 7PM Mary L. Stephens Davis Branch Library, Blanchard Room

Join Putah Creek Council's fourth CreekSpeak talk of 2018 on August 16, 2018.

CreekSpeak is Putah Creek Council's six-month series of community talks about the nature, culture, and history of our region.

Located on Mace Blvd., the South Fork Nature Preserve is the furthest downstream spot that most people will see on Putah Creek. The site has undergone significant changes: from a constructed creek channel, to a tomato field, and finally to a restored riparian area. This talk will cover the City- and grant-funded improvements currently taking place at the South Fork Nature Preserve.  These include new trail construction, ADA access and interpretive panels, as well as the recent expansion of the Preserve. Chris Gardner, Open Space Land Manager for the City of Davis, will lead the evening’s presentation and  will also provide an overview of the City’s Open Space resources. Come learn about how to enjoy these areas!

CreekSpeak talks are free to Putah Creek Council members and open to the public. A $5 donation is requested from those who have not yet joined the Council.

The talks alternate between Davis and Winters on the third Thursday of the month. Additional talks in 2018 will include:

  • Winters Nature Park Extension (September 20, Winters)
  • Groundwater & Life (October 18, Davis)
August 16th, 2018 7:00 PM   through   8:00 PM
315 East 14th St.
